This was a competitively bid project that encompassed a downtown park that serves as the front door for the Children’s Museum, Main Library, Bob Jones Museum & Gallery, Little Theatre, Art Museum and the Upcountry History Museum. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and within the anticipated budget for the project. Mavin managed relationships with six different building owners on the same property. Work took place while all facilities were occupied and disruptions were scheduled with facilities schedules. Extensive site management and traffic control planning was required to accomplish the project. The scope included a new terraced entry to the park with a central feature structure wrapped in corten steel and digital display. The rebranding of the park was accomplished through all new wayfinding and hardscapes that included granite pavers, site cast retaining walls, custom cut natural stone veneer and a site design by AECOM. The park borders two of the busiest intersections in downtown Greenville and was a success for all involved. The project was delivered in 4 months.
