DJ has lived in the Upstate most of his life. He graduated from the Darla Moore School of Business at The University of South Carolina in 2001. DJ has worked in the commercial construction industry since he graduated. He began his career as a field engineer and moved up through the pre-construction, project management and business development areas. Early in his career, DJ focused on sustainability, achieving the accreditation of LEED AP and most recently attaining a postgraduate diploma from Furman University in Corporate Sustainability. DJ is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 34 and continues to be very active in the community through both volunteering and leadership. He currently serves on the Board for Ten At The Top (TATT) and an advisory council for the Architectural and Construction Engineering Technology program at Greenville Tech. He and his wife Stacey have three children (Dutch, Lane, Anna Pearse) and a family pooch, Rosey. He is an avid sportsman and together with his family enjoys soccer, boating, offshore fishing, camping and traveling. DJ is a member at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
