This project consisted of demolishing the existing peacock enclosure and surrounding site elements to allow for the expansion of the existing Leopard Enclosure with the addition of a new building and transfer cage. The new building has separate caged areas for the male/female and any cubs to allow for separation of the cubs from the male. The building was built with a concrete slab on grade, CMU walls and steel roof structure with the public facing front and an interior wall being thematically designed to tie into the surrounding Asian design theme for that portion of Zoo. The interior consists of sloped floors and metal caging walls with thematic murals on the rear of front caged area.
